      Hi,
      on 2.5.2-RELEASE ,

I have the DHCP server running on 1 interface and it provides ip addresses through a wifi access point ( bridge mode ).
All connected hosts ( phones, laptop, cleaning robots ...Etc... ) works fine and has no issues except 2 :

1 tablet,(android ) which stay connected to the wifi but which apparently loose IP address ( if I disable the wifi and re-enable it, it reconnect straight forward without a problem )

1 sonos beam , which sounds to have the same behavior ( less sure on what happen here as I can not really troubleshoot )

Any one would have a suggestion on the why ?
One option would be to create leases with a HUUUGEE time , but not really fan of this option
      Thanks for your insights !

@smalldragoon said in some hosts are not renewing properly their lease:

but which apparently loose IP address

So you can see this on the tablet - where it shows no IPv4 address?

To help troubleshoot I would look in your dhcp log, are you seeing it ask for renewal, or sending a discover.

What should happen is around the 50% of the lease, it should renew, if that doesn't happen the closer and closer it gets to expire it will ask more and more often. Near the end it should really be flooding almost asking for renewal.. I drowning man flaying his arms about like crazy for something to grab hold of.. When it does expire, then it would send out a discover, saying hey ok you couldn't renew my last IP - give me a different one.

You should be able to see this in your dhcp logs on pfsense.. But if the client is not asking, or if the renew request isn't seen by pfsense there is nothing pfsense can do..

What is your current lease time by the way?

@johnpoz hi, default lease time is to 86400.
For the tablet , here is a screenshot below . It says indeed connected ( and it was ), but it has no more « internet » connectivity

@smalldragoon I don't see from there what IP you have - if any, but sure looks like your doing doh with that DNS prive at the bottom, and also a VPN connection? Or trying to use a vpn and its not connected?

Maybe your connection to dns died, if so then yeah it would think no internet.

If you click on the connection - does it show you IP? example on my iphone if I click on my current wifi connection it shows me the IP I have.
